My maltese/yorkie mix is drinking lots of water and peeing a lot what could it be? She also has a potbelly? We have brought her to the vet and she had vaginitis. We are feeding her the recommended amount of food. She has gained a pound in the last week. We just had her checked again and her urine was fine. Any thoughts????

My maltese puppy pees a lot. Usually, your fur baby will need to go outside 30 minutes after drinking water. That's one of the best carpet-saving tips I've learned from my favorite dog trainer. You may be taking your puppy out too much if they are peeing a lot. It may seem logical at first to take them out right after they wake up, drink water, have lots of playtime, or. Step #1 - Observe your puppy on several occasions to determine if it is refusing to defecate on the pad, or just missing it. Many times a puppy will move around a lot before actually defecating, and even though it started on the pad, it ends up off of it. This is easier to fix than if the puppy just will not defecate on the pad. I’m having some issues with my dog peeing/pooping in other peoples houses. He’s 2years old 4.5lbs Pomeraian. I peepad trained him since he was a puppy and he’s always been using them. In my home he pees 100% of the time on the pads (unless there isn’t one down, then he pees in the place where the pad usually sits). Here's the thing, my puppy can hold her pee for maximum 2-4 hrs. But when she is out of her cage or leash she pees every 15 min and she pees a lot. How do i train her? • DO leave feces in desired areas of elimination, when appropriate, to reinforce that this is an appropriate area for performing this function.•

I work from home with my puppy and I keep him on a tie down near my desk most of the day. If I need a little break then I’ll crate my puppy for an hour. I don’t use a play pen with my puppies, but it’s perfectly fine to use a play pen just make sure you work on teaching your puppy the proper place to go potty. Hopefully that helps. I have a (vet approved) healthy Australian Shepherd puppy. She's 2 months old and isn't doing well with potty training, but she's pretty responsive to other training lessons. She seems very smart and quick to learn except for the potty training. She drinks A LOT of water, like approximately every 15 minutes and pees in the floor. Other than walking her every time she drinks (ridiculous to keep. A number of things can cause your puppy to drink excessively; some are harmful and some are not. Changes in diet, medication, exercise or lifestyle may be responsible. Excessive thirst, known medically as polydipsia, can be an early warning sign of various health problems. Take your young dog to the vet for a checkup. Our 3 month Catahoula puppy pees outside and lets us know with a cry at the door. He is on third time for a U.T. problem , But he will pee/ discharge a clear fluid that does not smell or look like pee.in the house after being outside . Sometimes its pee. Yellow in color. Are there any other medical problems that we should look for.

He ate some with some prompting especially when we dont leave the food on the floor. he is still iffy with potty training but I gave a local dog trainer a call and he recommended a potty technique that ladiesmom recommended until he comes around at 10 weeks to get the puppy nice and trained. My aunt also gave him this little rabbit soft toy. It's not uncommon for a puppy to experience some difficulty controlling her bladder. However, actual urinary incontinence is a health concern. Along with frequently licking her privates, if incontinence is an issue, your fuzzy little friend also may leave behind pee puddles, trails of urine or have damp fur or irritation around her urinary opening. i have 14 week old golden doodle that i have ad for two weeks with my other two year old golden doodle in the house. I have never had such a hard time potty training my pup. He ALWAYS pees when i take him outside, it could even be within 15 mins and i say go potty and he will. A lot depends, however, on your puppy’s age, size, and activity level. Very young pups fulfill their hydration needs from their mother’s milk. As they are being weaned and starting to eat.

As a puppy, your dog will need to be taken out to use the bathroom every few hours. But that is completely normal.. Drinking a lot of water is a symptom of kidney disease. Weakness and disorientation caused by a kidney problem could mean a pet who normally is housetrained may have accidents while asleep.. I have a 13 yr old Maltese, Angel. My dog over the last 7 or 8 months has started peeing alot she is 9.5 years old black lab. She can hold her bladder for long periods but when I let her out she pees every 45 seconds I have seen. Usually, you can use your puppy’s age to count hours she can hold pee: two hours when she’s two months old, four hours at the age of four, and so on. Don’t let her hold it for more than 5-6 hours before she’s one year old. Healthy adult dogs can hold their bladders up to eight, and even ten hours, when trained. I usually notice puppy bliss during the 4-6 month period as my puppy is still relatively small (compared to his full size) and cute, he behaves well, listens, and understands most of the basics. However, for some reason around 6 months puppies seem to hit a regression (at least mine do).
