My Yorkie Puppy Has Grey Hair

My yorkie puppy has grey hair. Yorkie's are meant to be silver/grey in color. They vary in the mix of color. I have a Yorkie who has been mostly grey and then hardly any grey at all depending on the hair cut. The hair grows in different each time. (My friends always tell me he looks like an old dog cus of the grey but he is only 4! The puppies of yorkshire terriers have a coat which is generally black with tan highlights across their entire body. Whereas, for an adult yorkie, the color of its coat is a combination of dark grey and gold. The dark colored coat of a yorkie puppy will gradually fade away as it ages and will attain the colors of an adult yorkie. The dark steel-blue extends from the neck to the tail root, and darker blue hair covers the tail. yes it is normal.. my yorkie as a puppy was all black now he is brown and has alot of gray hair. i took him to the gromer 2 weeks ago to get his hair cut really short so he can be cooler now that it is summer and he came back to me looking alllll gray!!! i was complaining this was not my dog hahah but it was :P The Yorkie colors in details. The hair on the head is long and golden and it gets even more intense on the sides of the head, at the base of the ears and on the muzzle where it is the longest. The golden color of the head should not extend to the neck and also should not have any admixture of grey or black hair. As the Yorkie changes from a puppy to adult, there is more tan/gold coloring than black or blue. Therefore, an adult has a much lighter coat color than a puppy. The hair on a Yorkie’s head, breast and belly is golden and should not include any blue. The legs are also golden up to the elbows and knees. My dog is a little over 6 years old and is white with dark gray on her head and patches on her body. Shealready has about 50% white hair in the gray patches. My vet says dogs over 7 years old are senior dogs. And dogs gray like people. My Mom got a dog same time as me...she's all black but she is getting white hair around her muzzle already.
