My Husky Puppy Is Shy
Socialization is the time when your young pet dog will be experiencing and interacting with various people, situations, places, and many other factors while it is still young. During the first eight weeks of your puppy, they will start to develop and become shy and wary of people that are unfamiliar.
My husky puppy is shy. Yes, my very shy puppy was scared of the other puppies for the first three classes. It didn't help that she got rushed by the instructors 3 or 4 adult Aussies when she arrived two times. At the third lesson, she started out veering way out of the way to avoid the other puppies, but by the end, she was interested in them and actually looked like. When I got Husky puppy Lara, she was very small compared to my two other dogs. Because of the big size difference, play can be risky and also scary for the small puppy. In the beginning, I supervised my dogs very closely, and still Lara got hurt when my Shiba (who is only about 32 pounds) accidentally ran over her. Shy dogs often bolt when frightened, endangering themselves by running blindly into danger, such as traffic. Training Your Dog or Puppy to be Shy. Anything outside the puppy's experience is typically perceived as a potential threat, particularly by submissive or shy pets. It's helpful for training purposes if you can identify a specific fear. Dogs are shy when confronted with things they do not understand. If the dog wasn't exposed to something as a puppy, their natural reaction is to be cautious around it as an adult. Also, dogs that associate an object with fear or punishment (such as a dog struck with an umbrella), may be shy or fearful of the object (an umbrella). My family currently has a 13-week old Siberian Husky/Australian Shepherd mix puppy (DOB 2-5-19). I am not a novice dog owner, so when my sister got an Aussie/Husky mix puppy I offered to help her train the puppy. It was obvious from the first day that the puppy was scared and reserved.

Video taken in Darwin, NT, Australia As for frequency of feeding, I distribute my Sibe puppy’s food throughout the day for obedience exercises, grooming, playing, etc. What is left over I make into frozen Kongs – which are very useful for getting my Sibe puppy to calm down before taking a nap. From talking to my breeder, she recommends feeding puppies at least 3 times a day. Different experts will give you different closing dates, ranging from 12 to 16 weeks old. Individual puppies will vary, too. I urge you to play it safe--socialize diligently from the minute you get your puppy home. Without good socialization, your puppy will likely be shy and skittish as he grows up. A. Shy dogs must not be around other dogs because they need to bond with humans. This is NOT true. My experience with a male husky and a bitch husky living in the same household is still an adventure. They have almost the same age, and here comes the challenge.
